MBC Internship

The Internship at Muskoka Bible Centre (MBC) is an 8-month work/community experience (September through April). There are three main focuses of this program: work excellence, living in community and spiritual formation. This is a program for those who are willing to work hard, live in an engaging community and grow spiritually.

Work Excellence: Interns work approx. 36 hours per week in three main departments while at MBC: housekeeping, foodservice and maintenance. The full-time staff at MBC help to properly train each intern in their work areas during their time at MBC.

Living in Community: Interns will be living in a close community during their time at MBC. They will be given an allowance for food and are responsible for cooking and cleaning. Each week, the Interns will participate in a Community Day together, spending time growing together during fun activities or different mission-focused opportunities. To help our Interns build into the MBC community, each Intern will be partnered with a full-time staff to mentor them and connect with them during their time at MBC.

  • Community Day Activities include seminars, service and Muskoka experiences. Some options include:
    • Understanding how to budget wisely
    • Learning how to cook on a meal plan
    • Muskoka style adventure activities including rock climbing, cross-country skiing, ice climbing, out trips & more
    • Visiting and volunteering with partner organizations of Camp Widjiitiwin in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area who work with underprivileged communities

Spiritual Formation: This is a priority for the internship at MBC. • To actively participate in all parts of the internship

This is not a semester program, or year program, for those who are wanting to just spend time with friends. This is an intentional semester for growth personally and spiritually while participating in ministry and MBC.
