Widjiitiwin

The Widjiitiwin program exists to address the unique and complex needs of marginalized youth and their families, guided by and empowered by the Holy Spirit and embracing Jesus in a manner consistent with the principles expressed in God’s Word. It is a ministry of Muskoka Bible Centre, rebirthed in 2022 to drive our mission to grow resilient, biblically rooted families to the glory of God.

Position

  • Male Section Head – Camp Widjiitiwin
  • Seasonal, Spring & Summer Positions
  • Huntsville, Ontario, Canada

    Responsibilities

    This person will serve on the Camp Widjiitiwin Leadership Team. Their role will be to supervise cabin leaders and with the support of the Camp Shepherd, to assist with spiritual oversight of staff and campers. The role is suitable for a spiritually mature individual who has experience in staff and camper supervision and management. This person will be a servant leader and set an example amongst the Camp Widjiitiwin staff team in this. With the support of the Camp Shepherd, this role will be responsible for equipping and supporting the staff spiritually and emotionally. With an emphasis on staff development, unity, and conflict resolution this role must have strong communication skills as well as a strong ability to follow camp philosophies, rules, guidelines and policies. Experience needed in working with marginalized youth, special needs experience and managing any emergency or crisis within the Camp Widjiitiwin Program context is strongly recommended.

    Experience

    Strong personal spiritual vitality and commitment to Jesus Christ, 2+ years working with youth, camp ministry, mature in Conduct; professional in communication, conduct and appearance; problem Solver; others focused; Quick on feet, quick responding and can handle crises. First Aid CPR C is an asset (will train).
