Housekeeping “Working in Ministry”

Hi, my name is Anastasia Landon. I have been serving here at MBC for almost 4 years now. I have served in housekeeping for the majority of my time here and have enjoyed it immensely. This job could be done elsewhere, however, MBC offers a Christian environment that aims to bring both our staff and our guests closer to Christ.

What I enjoy most about MBC is the Spring and Summer months when the Spring and Summer crew come onboard. I have had the privilege of being both in the Immerse program (previously known as Stepping Stones) and having full time staff walk alongside me and encourage me in my walk with God while we do our housekeeping duties. Since I have moved onto the full-time staff team, I have had the privilege of walking alongside our new Spring and Summer staff. Housekeeping is so much more than just operational and cleaning rooms. It is a wonderful way to get to know someone as you work with them day to day. What else can you do when you are cleaning rooms besides talking and getting to know one another.

The verse I think best encourages me in my job is Galatians 5:13:

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

As I said, I could do this job anywhere else, but I have remained here because I see the ministry of MBC and how it serves others in bringing them and their families closer to Christ and my housekeeping role contributes to that.
