Michael A. G. Haykin serves as Professor of Church History at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Director of The Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies at Southern Seminary. He is married to Alison and they are members of West Highland Baptist Church (FEBC) in Hamilton, Ontario. They have two adult children: Victoria living in Vienna, Austria, and Nigel (and Sharon), working as a lawyer in Hamilton, Ontario. He is a big believer in helping local churches develop an appreciation of the significance of church history for their churches and to this end he has written or edited nearly a dozen local church histories. He has also written widely on fourth-century Christianity in the Roman Imperium and eighteenth-century British Baptists, in particular, the life and ministry of Andrew Fuller, and his circle of friends that included William Carey.

The group was originally formed in 1985 at Unionville Alliance Church in Unionville, Ontario, Canada. Known in those days as “The Unionville Boys”, the quartet quickly gained a local following through appearances at Churches, banquets, conferences and community events throughout Southern Ontario.

As the ministry grew, the quartet was renamed “The Master’s Four”, reflecting their commitment to an expanded ministry and to the message of Grace and Hope that is engrained in their music. Today, the current members of The Master’s Four continue to touch hearts and lives with this message through their  unique blend of traditional, contemporary and southern gospel music.

The quartet has been recognized with numerous awards and nominations throughout the years.

The year 2015 brought changes to the group with the addition of John Peneycad as a fifth member. John brings an additional voice and a new dynamic to the group.

In 2023, with the release of their latest album “Call On The Healer”, the group celebrates the expansion as “The Master’s Four +”. These exciting projects demonstrate why The Master’s Four continue to gain new audiences across Canada and around the world!

David Wesley has been pushing the boundaries of music, worship, and technology on YouTube for over a decade.  His one-man-choir and multi-track instrumental videos have racked up over 27 million views and 200,000 subscribers, in addition to airplay on music streaming services and Christian radio.  In 2016, he started the David Wesley Virtual Choir, which has since grown to hundreds of singers from dozens of countries.  In the real world, David has been involved in local church worship ministry for over 20 years, with opportunities to minister at retreats, conferences and camps in Canada and the United States.

Cellist Lydia (Helsdon) Munchinsky grew up near Straffordville, Ontario. Before moving to Toronto in 2000 to study at The Glenn Gould School in Toronto with Simon Fryer (cello) and Peter Longworth (piano), she completed her ARCT in performance for both piano and cello. She also backpacked across Europe and studied for one term at Swiss l’Abri, where she met her husband Marty. They now have two young children and reside in Toronto, where Lydia works as a freelance cellist and teacher. She has had the privilege of performing and recording with many artists including Alessia Cara, Jesse Cook, Laila Biali, Sarah Slean and Mike Janzen. She toured North America and Korea with Quartetto Gelato, and was a member of the Venuti String Quartet and classical/folk group Ozere. Lydia also writes music and records from her home, and is currently working on a number of projects with pianist Cory Alstad. She is featured on his album Songs for the Morning, and together they have released two albums for the Music Supervisors in the UK and a number of successful singles for the Aemeralds record label.

Jody Cross is a worshipper, songwriter, recording artist, and pastor. Jody has served in the local church for over 30 years. Jody has recorded several worship albums and enjoys equipping worship teams and leaders. He is the Lead Pastor at Southshore Bible Church in Barrie, Ontario where he enjoys preaching God’s Word and leading God’s people in expressing praise and worship to our great God and Saviour. Suanesha [Swan-eesha] is a Jamaican-Canadian singer, songwriter, worship leader and radio announcer. She is passionate and excited about sharing encouraging and inspirational music. She started singing in church at an early age and continued to grow into a songwriter, compiling her first full length album MELODY and releasing summer hit single ‘I’m Not Alone’. As a creative and media enthusiast, Suanesha hosts a podcast TeaTalks with Suanesha and is a radio announcer at Life100.3

If that weren’t enough she also wears the professional hat of a Registered Nurse and can be seen at any time singing to her patients, offering encouragement in their most difficult stages of life.

The Worship Project is a growing worship community in Toronto that connects and equips local Church worship leaders and musicians. They accomplish this by creating space for worship leaders to gather in community, being a hands-on ministry resource for their teams and collaborating with musicians/songwriters around the city to serve the local Church.
