Home 5 MBC Retreats 5 Family Fusion Unique

October 24-27, 2025

Family Fusion Unique is a retreat in partnership with Guidelight and is designed to provide deep spiritual refreshment in a relaxing and intimate environment. We partner to provide an impactful and life-giving time for each family. Retreats are three days/three nights in length and include programming for all ages, family outings, one-on-one volunteer care of each person with special needs, and a guest speaker focusing on the biblical encouragement through the lens of disability.

Volunteers Needed:

If you are able to volunteer, please reach out to us. Volunteers need to be able to commit to the full weekend, Friday through Monday. Volunteers will be provided with food and lodging for the weekend. We have a variety of volunteer roles we need to fill: 1:1 buddies, worship leader, children’s program coordinator, activities coordinator, etc. No special training is required. Guidelight, our ministry partner that is helping to run the retreat, will provide training for all the volunteers.

Please reach out to Sevrin Hamilton at sevrin@theguidelight.org as soon as possible if you are able to serve, or have any further questions. We long to serve and encourage these families who experience disability.

If anyone or any churches are willing to financially sponsor a family, please reach out as well. There is no cost for families to attend, as the expenses are covered by Guidelight, Muskoka Bible Centre and partnering churches.

Our family was incredibly blessed by this experience. It is always amazing and very special the way that special needs parents and caregivers share a unique and lovely bond and understanding with one another immediately upon meeting. Our group had quite a wide variety of disabilities represented within it but we shared a love and caring for each of the other families and our hearts were touched as their stories were shared. Teachings were focused on our unique parenting and family experiences (as special needs households) which is something I had never before experienced and that was very meaningful. I was definitely sad to reach the end of our time together after this eventful and rejuvenating experience. I am very grateful. THANK YOU to all involved in making this retreat a reality.♥️
