With all the demands on our time; work, children, other social commitments, it can be challenging to find time to spend together just with you and your spouse. If you are looking for a romantic retreat near you look no further. MBC is proud to offer this christian retreat designed solely for couples.
Couples Getaway is a weekend for couples to get away from the daily obligations and reconnect. It is a time away to play together through activities provided, to grow together in Christ and to worship together with song and teaching.

Dan & Angie Thornton

Dan & Angie Thornton have served in leadership development with Crossworld since 2005. After 10 years in Senegal, the Lord led them and their two daughters to minister in French-speaking Quebec. Angie trains Bible teachers as the Women’s Ministry Director for SOLA (TGC Quebec) and hosts a column in English at The Gospel Coalition Canada and in French at TPSG, where she also co-hosts the podcast Chrétienne. She holds an MDiv from Moody Theological Seminary. Dan is a professor at Séminaire Baptiste Évangélique du Québec, instructor at Parole de vie/Word of Life Sherbrook, the content editor for SOLA, an elder at their local church, and a frequent guest preacher across the province. He holds a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary.

John & Merissa Gleason

John and Merissa were both born and raised in Windsor-Essex County and live there today, but many of John’s childhood memories were made here at MBC!
The couple has been married since 2012 and met each other through their church youth group.
They attend Meadowbrook Church today and have been serving in worship ministry since they were teenagers.
After beating breast cancer in 2019, Merissa decided to use her experience as inspiration to start writing her own music and is on her way to releasing a studio album.
John being the entrepreneur he is, has recently started up a machine shop in Kingsville and has been keeping busy with local jobs that require machining or fabrication – he is living his dream!
It is such an honor to be a part of the Couples Retreat again this winter and can’t wait to worship & grow with you!
Teaching Topic

- Consummation – The hope of eternity that shapes how we live and love today (Revelation 19, 21–22)
