Marriage in Ministry: A Pastoral Couples’ Retreat
November 3-6, 2025
MBC would like to invite you to our Marriage in Ministry Retreat. This year we are partnering with Broomtree, a clinically informed, Gospel fueled counselling care lead by Matt King.
This marriage retreat offers a much-needed space for couples in ministry to step away from the demands of daily life and reconnect on a deeper level. Together, we’ll explore key areas of marital health including physical intimacy, emotional connection, parenting through the highs and lows, and maintaining a strong, grace-filled home life.
There will be time to reflect on how to avoid neglecting one another amid ministry responsibilities, and space to talk honestly about what it means to be partners, not just in life and parenting, but in faith and leadership. We’ll also focus on practical tools like setting healthy boundaries, strengthening communication, and making time for joy and rest together.
This retreat is designed to encourage, refresh, and equip; helping couples in ministry rediscover each other and build a strong foundation for the journey ahead.

Read about Matt King
Matt King is the Executive Director of Broomtree Care. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Psychology and Counselling at Liberty University in Virginia. For 10 years, he has been in pastoral ministry, and currently serves as the senior pastor of North Church in Bracebridge, Ontario. Matt sits on the board for Canadian Biblical Counselling Coalition and is finishing his second Master’s in Clinical Counselling at Tyndale University, at which point he will begin the qualifying stage of becoming a Registered Psychotherapist. Matt’s passion is walking with hurting people and using humor and hope to bring healing. At home, Matt is a husband to Becky and dad to four wonderful kids.
